Arai Tour X5 Trail helmet

The Arai Tour-X5 is the new Adventure helmet from the renowned Japanese brand Arai. Long-awaited, it represents the evolution of the famous Tour-X4, one of the most popular adventure helmets. The Tour-X5 has been tested according to ECE 22.06 regulations and updated in several aspects. This versatile helmet is designed for riders who tackle both long road trips and off-road adventures. Updates include innovations in the shell, ventilation system, visor and inner liner. The Tour-X5 aims to compete with other high-end adventure helmets.

### Shell of the Tour-X5

The Arai Tour-X5 helmet follows Arai's well-known 'Glance-Off' strategy. The Japanese manufacturer designs its shells with a shape that is as rounded as possible, believing that this design offers the best protection. The idea behind it is that it is preferable to deflect the impact rather than absorb it completely before it reaches the brain.

The shell of the Tour-X5 is made from a fibreglass composite called 'Arai Super-Fiber Shell Construction', which according to Arai provides up to 40% greater strength than standard fibreglass. This is achieved through thin fibres and a unique resin.

One of the main advantages of fibreglass is its high strength, which allows less material to be used to achieve the desired level of protection. This results in a lighter helmet with an approximate weight of 1735 grams.

The Arai Tour-X5 helmet is available in five sizes and three different outer shell sizes. The three shell sizes ensure an optimal fit, improving safety and giving the helmet a compact and stylish appearance. In addition, Arai uses a one-piece EPS inner shell with multiple densities, unlike other manufacturers who use separate layers to achieve different densities. This solution offers excellent protection against different types of impact. The helmet has a fit that ranges from intermediate oval to elongated oval.

### Inner liner

The Arai Tour-X5 off-road helmet is extremely comfortable, like all Arai helmets. The soft inner liner, made of high-quality materials, consists of several upgraded sections. The improved cheek pads fit the jaw better, making the helmet less tight but still firmly on the face. The 'EcoPure' inner liner is antibacterial and designed to maintain an optimal pH balance of the skin.

The liner can be customised with removable 5 mm foam parts, allowing it to be adapted to the unique shape of the head for a particularly comfortable riding experience. Moreover, it is fully washable, with hand washing recommended to preserve the excellent fit.

The Tour-X5 is equipped with the Emergency Quick Release Liner, which allows rescuers to easily and safely remove the helmet in the event of an accident. Finally, the helmet design offers sufficient space to comfortably wear goggles.
